New In: BBB & Kohlhase Pipe Tobaccos
Classic British blends from one of the world’s oldest pipe brands, plus a premium German aromatic from Kohlhase & Kopp
Two storied names, one new arrival. BBB — Britain’s Best Briar traces its roots back to 1860, making it one of the oldest continuously produced pipe tobacco brands in the world. Alongside them, a single standout release from Kohlhase & Kopp — the prestigious German tobacco house whose blends we already stock across our Kopp and Ilsted ranges. Between them, three tins that cover a pleasing spectrum: mild Scandinavian aromatic, classic English Oriental, and a rich German Cavendish with a very distinctive twist.
BBB — Britain’s Best Briar
Founded in London in 1860 — originally as Blumfeld’s Best Briars — BBB was the first pipe brand to register a trademark under the Trade Marks Act of 1876, and went on to win gold medals at the Franco-British Exhibition in 1908. Their tobacco blends carry the same no-nonsense heritage: honest, well-balanced, and built for everyday smoking pleasure.

BBB Danish Mixture
A classic Scandinavian-style blend of quality Virginia and Burley tobaccos, lightly cased for a smooth and mild aromatic smoke. Danish Mixture is the epitome of the easy-going everyday pipe tobacco — approachable, consistent and always rewarding. An ideal choice for newer pipe smokers and seasoned veterans alike.
Size: 50g Tin | Price: £21.85
BBB Oriental Mixture
For those who prefer a little more complexity, BBB’s Oriental Mixture combines fragrant Oriental leaf with quality Virginias and a touch of Latakia for a well-balanced, medium-strength English-style blend. The Oriental tobacco brings a subtle spice and sweetness that lifts the whole smoke, making this a particularly satisfying and characterful tin.
Size: 50g Tin | Price: £21.85

Kohlhase No. 66

Kohlhase No. 66 — Crème de Cassis
From the same Kohlhase & Kopp house behind our Kopp and Ilsted ranges, No. 66 is one of their most distinctive blends. Double-fermented Black Cavendish, hand-torn dark flake and bright Virginia are cased with a rich Crème de Cassis — the classic French blackcurrant liqueur. The result is a lively “very berry” aromatic with a cool, smooth draw and just the right sharpness from the alcohol. Low in strength, generous in character, and presented in a handsome 100g tin.
Size: 100g Tin | Price: £45.00
