Condor Long Cut – Product Review

Condor Long Cut has a pouch note similar to St. Bruno but seems to have a lot more of the classic perfume note that made it famous. There is also those hints of fig, molasses and an undertone of wine. The long flakes are beautiful presented and easy to rub out or fold.
Condor Long Cut certainly has a stronger floral taste than St. Bruno and definitely has a stronger dose of nicotine. This tobacco also has more of a fruity tang to it, though I do not feel this tobacco at the the back of my throat as much as I do with St. Bruno. There is also a hint of that wine taste suggested by the pouch note. However, for my taste the overwhelming flavour is that intriguing floral note.
For me, the main differences between Condor Long Cut and St. Bruno are Condor’s heavier floral note and its strength. The classic Condor ‘soapy’ taste as some pipe smokers refer to it, is actually a very nice perfume almost like the scent of Earl Grey tea with its oil of bergamot. However, this is a very strong tobacco for my tastes as I do smoke lighter blends. I do find St. Bruno has more of a balance of flavours and is lighter in nicotine. One point I would make is that Condor and St. Bruno can heavily ghost a pipe so I would suggest devoting a pipe to this tobacco.
Condor Long Cut is fairly moist so you may want to dry it out a little. But once lit, it stayed lit well and due to its strength and prominent taste this is definitely a pipe tobacco with which to take your time.
