Sir Horatio Nelson is probably the most famous Admiral in the history of the Royal Navy, and he was admired by the British populace for his numerous victories.
He motivated his crew with courage, determination and a remarkable charismatic way to lead.
In 1805 he became the legend he is known for today, as he gained a spectacular victory in the Battle of Trafalgar against the overpowering French and Spanish fleets. In the battle he was mortally wounded by a gunshot and succumbed to his injuries after the battle.
The French fleet was weakened in such a way, that the conquest of England was no longer possible. The Admiral laid the foundation for a British supremacy on the oceans for decades to come.
In his honour the Nelson’s Column in Londons Trafalgar Square was constructed.
Barling dedicates the strategic master his own pipe series. The silver application in the shape of a rope was made especially for these pipes.
